quarter plate tintypes in a full thermoplastic
double image case. The bearded private on the
left wears his four-button sack coat and uniform
trousers, with his kepi on his head. He stands tall
beside his rifle with fixed bayonet. His US belt
buckle is visible, as are his cap box and cartridge
box. The rough backdrop suggests an itinerant
photographer. The image on the right is of an
unremarkable lady in black wearing a brooch
and small white collar. Contained in a geometric
thermoplastic case that doesn’t latch tightly and
