Langenheim, German-born American
photographers, amongst the most respected
daguerreotypists of the 1840’s. The Langenheim’
s had studios in Philadelphia and New York.
This photo appears to be taken of a wealthy
business man and it came from the Tatham
estate. There are some scratches and scattered
mold spiders on the plate. The rainbow to the
right of the image is not there it is just a
reflection I could not avoid with this scan.
Embossed in the velvet pad: “W. & F.
Langenheim Philadelphia Exchange.” Full case.
