24, 1895 (Fort Smith)  Expense voucher for serving warrant.    
In the book “Black, Red, and Deadly” Art Burton devotes an
entire chapter to Johnson, calling him “The second most
important African American Depty U.S. Marshal in the Indian
Territory”, a job Johnson held for 14 years.  The “Hanging
Judge” Isaac Parker, described Johnson as “one of the best
Deputy Marshals that he had known or worked with in the
Indian Territory”.   $275
