12268 Stephen Douglas - CDV presents 1860 Presidential
Candidate Stephen Douglas, who was aptly nicknamed
“The Little Giant.” He wears a cantankerous expression
probably much like he wore during the historic Lincoln-
Douglas Debates. Although he belonged to an opposing
political party, Douglas offered his services to Lincoln
after the beginning of the Civil War in order to support
of the Union cause. Backmark reads “Published by e.
Anthony 501 Broadway, N.Y. Manufacturer of
Photographic Albums” while the front of the card reads
“S.A. Douglas.” in period pencil. $185
