Delafield, Richard (1798-1873) Brevet Major General.
Graduated first in his class at West Point. He was 63 years old
at the start of the war; he superintended the defenses of the
Narrows, Governors Island, and Sandy Hook, in and near New
York Harbor.

Department, Washington, Dec. 2, 1864. He is forwarding
documents relating to the storming of Duppel. $200.00
